Modern Autism-Friendly Bedroom Design
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I want to transform an adult man’s bedroom into a modern, bright, and genuinely calming retreat that respects his sensory needs as an autistic individual. The overall vibe should be contemporary, but instead of cold minimalism I’m after a lively palette—think bold accent walls or furnishings that inject energy without feeling overwhelming.
Key sensory priorities
• Soft, soothing textures on all main touch-points (bedding, area rug, upholstery)
• Strategies to minimise ambient noise—acoustic panels, fabric headboard, or similar solutions that blend with the design
• Fully adjustable lighting: layered ceiling, task, and dimmable mood lights, with the option for blackout when needed
What you’ll deliver
• Mood-board illustrating the bright, modern concept and proposed colour story
• Scaled floor plan showing optimal furniture placement and clear circulation paths
• 3D visualisations or detailed renderings so we can preview the space before execution
• Sourcing list for furniture, textiles, finishes, and sensory-friendly accessories (links + budget tiers)
• Lighting plan specifying fixture types, dimming controls, and colour-temperature guidelines
• Acoustic treatment recommendations that match the style
All files can be handed over in PDF plus original editable format (SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar). If you prefer alternative design software, just let me know—flexible on tools as long as the final package is clear and actionable.
Please include a brief note or sample of a past sensory-conscious interior you’ve done so I can see your approach. Looking forward to collaborating on a bedroom that’s both modern and truly supportive for daily comfort.
