Migration of AutoCAD Drawings to Transit Agency-Compliant MicroStation Format
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Hello,
We are seeking an experienced MicroStation CAD professional (or team) to assist with a structured and standards-compliant migration of AutoCAD drawing sets to a Transit Agency (TA) MicroStation environment.
1 Scope of Work:
1.1 Initial Conversion Phase
Migrate approximately 10 sets of drawings, each containing around 68 sheets (many of which repeat across sets), from AutoCAD format to fully compliant TA-standard MicroStation (DGN) files.
1.2 Ongoing Development Phase
Provide ongoing support and conversion services for up to 65 additional sets over the next 18–20 months as new content is developed.
2 Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MicroStation 2024 and CONNECT Edition and/or V8i.
- Experience with large-scale transportation or public works projects—rail transit a strong plus.
- Familiarity with TA’s CADD Standards Manual, including:
• Drawing format, model use, legal/illegal element definitions, title block structure, and required symbology.
• Discipline-specific layer conventions and reference file structure.
- Capability to work within and deploy TA’s standard MicroStation development environment (e.g., TA_standards.cfg, dgnlib, seed, pltcfg, vba, mdlapps, macros, etc.).
3 Provided Resources(available on request):
- TA’s Drafting Standards Manual – to define expectations and requirements.
- Directory structure listing of TA’s MicroStation development environment.
We can provide representative AutoCAD DWG files for test conversion upon request.
4 Deliverables:
- Converted DGN files fully aligned with TA’s layer, title block, and file naming standards.
- Setup and use of correct seed files, cell libraries, line styles, level symbology, and color tables.
- Compliance with TA’s plotting/pen table requirements for final submittals.
