Medieval-Style Tower Home Design

Job ID: 38390052

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm looking for an architect with a keen understanding of medieval design principles to help me plan a tower home. The structure will be built from large limestone blocks, and its primary purpose is for residential living.

Key Aspects:
Interior dimensions 32' diameter circle. With 2'x2'x5' limestone blocks as the wall material.
- Architectural Style: The design should reflect a medieval aesthetic, with characteristic features of this period. Specifically arrow slit windows on the lower levels, stone arch entryway, arcade style windows on top floor for panoramic view.
- Interior Layout: I prefer a mixed layout for the interior, incorporating elements of both traditional rooms and open spaces. This will provide a balance between privacy and communal living. The basement level(half below grade) should include a mechanical room, cistern for water storage, long term storage area, and guest room with bathroom. The 4 above ground floors layout dont worry about, except to know that they floors 1-3 are residential, with a central masonry fireplace. Floor 4 is to be a ballroom, so it will need to accomodate as many people as can fit in a 32' circle safely. 2. Fourth floor a large ballroom, with a bathroom on one wall.
Nearly flat concrete roof, with limestone crenelations.
- Use of Material: The home will be constructed from large limestone blocks, so the design must take into account the weight and structural requirements of this material. The foundation is of particular importance due to the weight of the walls.

Ideal candidates for this project should have:
-Familiarity with Medieval aesthetics
- Strong skills in residential design
- Knowledge in working with heavy, natural materials like limestone
- Ability to create a varied, mixed interior layout.

Please provide examples of your previous work that align with these requirements.
