Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
Project Overview:
We are hiring an experienced MEP and Electrical System Designer with strong expertise in Indian residential building standards. The project requires a complete MEP + Fire Fighting + Electrical Distribution design package. The building uses individual split ACs (no centralized HVAC system).
⸻
Scope of Work
1. Mechanical (Ventilation & AC Coordination)
• Ventilation design for staircases, lift lobby, basements/parking (if applicable).
• Fresh air and exhaust design in compliance with NBC/local regulations.
• Coordination for individual split AC units (indoor–outdoor routing, drain lines).
• Outdoor AC unit placement plan and service clearances.
⸻
2. Electrical System Design (Including Transformer & RMU)
The designer shall deliver a complete electrical distribution system from HT to LT, including:
2.1 Load Estimation & Power Demand
• Connected and demand load calculations for the entire building.
• Diversity factor application for residential load as per Indian standards.
• Determination of sanctioned load requirement for submission to DISCOM.
2.2 Transformer Sizing
• Complete transformer sizing based on calculated demand load.
• Selection of rating (e.g., 250 kVA / 315 kVA / 500 kVA etc.) as per site conditions.
• Calculation summary including:
• Load allocation
• Transformer losses
• Future expansion margin
• HT/LT side protection
• Transformer room layout and ventilation requirement.
2.3 RMU (Ring Main Unit) Design
• RMU selection specifications (SF6/air-insulated).
• HT cable routing and termination details.
• RMU protection scheme and interlocking.
• Layout drawings and single line schematic for HT distribution.
• Compliance with DISCOM standards and fire-safety norms.
2.4 LT Panels & SLD
• Main LT panel (MLTP) design including switchgear selection.
• Sub-distribution boards for each floor and common areas.
• Apartment distribution boards (DBs) with circuit zoning.
• Protective devices: ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs, ELCBs/RCCBs.
• Earthing/grounding layout and calculations.
• Final Single Line Diagram (SLD) for the entire building.
2.5 LV Cable Routing and Trunking (Critical Requirement)
• Detailed LV cable routing plan from:
• Transformer to LT panel
• LT panel to floor panels
• Floor panels to apartment DBs
• Cable tray/trunking design including:
• Sizing of trays & cable containment
• Horizontal and vertical routing
• Shaft utilization and fire-stopping details
• Segregation rules (power, lighting, data, fire alarm)
• Cable sizing, voltage drop calculation & short-circuit analysis.
• Earthing network design, lightning protection (if required).
⸻
3. Plumbing & Drainage System
• Water supply and distribution (UGT/OHT sizing, pump capacity, pipe sizing).
• Internal plumbing for typical residential units.
• External network, manhole layout & connection to municipal lines.
• Rainwater drainage, harvesting provisions per local regulations.
• Complete riser diagrams and hydraulic calculations.
⸻
4. Fire Fighting System Design
• Design of hydrant system, pump room sizing, sprinkler system (if applicable).
• Fire extinguishers and hose reel layout.
• Fire alarm system layout.
• Emergency exit and signage.
• All documents as per NBC 2016/2019 + Fire NOC norms.
⸻
Deliverables
• Complete CAD drawings (MEP + Fire + Electrical HT–LT).
• Transformer & RMU sizing report, HT/LT SLDs.
• Cable routing layouts, tray/trunking details.
• Equipment schedules and technical specifications.
• Calculation sheets (load, transformer, pump, pipe sizing, voltage drop, etc.).
• BOQ for all systems.
• Final coordinated drawing set ready for contractor execution and authority approvals.
⸻
Candidate Requirements
• Must have prior experience with residential MEP + HT/LT electrical design in India.
• Strong knowledge of NBC, IS standards, CPHEEO, Fire NOC guidelines.
• Ability to coordinate multi-system layouts and deliver accurate drawings.
• Should be able to deliver calculations + drawings + BOQ professionally.
