House Rebuild: Expanded Master Suite Design

A recent fire left my home a blank slate, and I’m ready to turn that setback into a thoughtful redesign. My first goal is to enlarge the master suite—size is the clear priority—while still letting in plenty of natural light and framing a backyard view from the bed. I plan to push the bedroom about six feet into the yard, so any layout you propose should take that extension into account and showcase where large windows or glass doors could sit without compromising privacy.

Most of the extra square footage will go to the master closet and bath. I picture a generous walk-through bath leading to a closet that feels like a small lounge, complete with a seating area for dressing. Storage is important, of course, but the seating zone is what will make the space feel luxurious.

Other changes I have in mind:
• Move the laundry room closer to the bedrooms; the old laundry footprint can then convert into a larger, highly organized pantry connected to the kitchen.
• Retain an easy flow from the new master suite to the rest of the house, avoiding awkward jogs or long hallways.

What I need from you:
1. A revised floor-plan concept that shows the bedroom bump-out, the re-positioned laundry, and the enlarged pantry.
2. Clear indications of window placements and sightlines so I can picture the backyard view and daylight in the new master suite.
3. Scalable digital files—PDF plus a format editable in AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp—so my builder can move straight into permitting.
