Garage Conversion & Country Expansion
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m ready to turn my existing attached garage into an expanded kitchen + gathering room and then build a new three-car garage that blends perfectly with the French-country character of the house. The driving goal is functionality: more room to cook, entertain and move freely, all while preserving a cohesive exterior.
Here’s the vision in more detail. First, the current garage becomes interior space, giving the kitchen generous square footage for an open floor plan with a large central island and plenty of circulation. I’d like the layout to feel like one continuous gathering zone, so thoughtful traffic flow, natural light and strategic storage solutions are important.
Once that enclosure is planned, a new oversized three-stall garage—ideally tied in with matching rooflines, stone / stucco textures, dormers and other French-country cues—needs to be added. I want the transition between old and new to read as if it was always there.
Deliverables I need from you:
• Schematic design concepts (floor plan & elevations) for the converted kitchen / gathering room and the new garage
• 3D visualisations or renderings that clearly show the French-country façade treatments, roof pitches and material palette
• Construction-ready drawings with dimensions, structural notes and basic MEP call-outs sufficient for permitting and builder pricing
• A simple finish schedule so the exterior materials remain seamless between the existing home and the new garage
Preferred tools are AutoCAD, Revit or SketchUp—use whichever will communicate the design best. Local code familiarity is a plus, yet remote collaboration works fine if drawings are clear and buildable.
If you can help me bring this functional, French-country expansion to life, I’d love to see examples of similar conversions or stylistic work you’ve handled.
