Requirements:
• Proven EXPERIENCE AS A FURNITURE DRAFTSMAN or similar role in the furniture industry.
• PROFICIENCY in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF FURNITURE DESIGN principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ABILITY TO CREATE ACCURATE TECHNICAL DRAWINGS.
• Understanding of industry standards, ergonomic guidelines, and safety regulations.
• ABILITY TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY and COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY with designers, architects, and production teams.
• STRONG PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS and ABILITY TO TROUBLESHOOT TECHNICAL ISSUES during the manufacturing process.
• Familiarity with different types of furniture, styles, and trends.
• Degree or diploma in industrial design, furniture design, or a related field is preferred.
Job Description:
• Create detailed technical drawings and plans for the production of furniture, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with furniture designers, architects, and engineers to understand design concepts and specifications.
• Translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and traditional drafting techniques.
• Ensure that the furniture designs meet industry standards, ergonomic guidelines, and safety regulations.
• Calculate dimensions, material requirements, and production costs to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop bill of materials (BOM) and cutting lists for accurate material estimation and procurement.
• Collaborate with the production team to resolve any technical issues during the manufacturing process.
• Review and modify existing furniture designs to improve functionality, structural integrity, or cost efficiency.
• Keep updated with the latest trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques in the furniture industry.
• Maintain accurate documentation of design changes, revisions, and project progress.
• Conduct quality checks on finished furniture pieces to ensure compliance with design specifications.
