Job Overview:
A professional consulting firm servicing the Architectural, Hospitality, and Real Estate development markets is seeking a highly skilled Freelance IT Design Consultant to join its project teams on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing conceptual IT systems and guiding them through Schematic Design and Detailed Design phases. Additionally, they will prepare comprehensive tender bid packages that include clear instructions for vendors and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Project Teams: Become an integral part of the project team, ensuring the IT systems align with architectural and development objectives across all phases.
Conceptual Design: Develop initial IT system designs that are innovative, scalable, and tailored to the specific requirements of each project, considering both current technology and future scalability.
Schematic Design & Detailed Development: Refine the conceptual designs into Schematic Design and further develop them into Detailed Design documentation.
Ensure designs meet industry standards, budget constraints, and project goals.
Tender Documentation: Create tender bid documents, including technical specifications, instructions, and selection criteria for vendors and contractors. Ensure that the documentation is clear, comprehensive, and meets project and legal requirements.
Coordination & Communication: Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure IT designs are integrated seamlessly with other project systems and design elements.
Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on IT infrastructure, hardware, and software systems, including networking, security systems, audiovisual integrations, and other relevant technologies in the hospitality and real estate sectors.
Project Timeline Management: Adhere to project schedules, ensuring that IT system designs are delivered on time for each phase, from concept through to tender.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with clients, project stakeholders, and other consultants to ensure clarity, address concerns, and align IT designs with overall project goals.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (5+ years) in IT system design within the architectural, hospitality, or real estate development industries.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, audiovisual, and security systems.
Ability to translate client needs and project requirements into comprehensive IT design solutions.
Proficiency in creating detailed design documentation, tender bids, and technical specifications.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in CAD, BIM, or other design software is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field preferred.
