External swing wind doors design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm looking for a contractor to design custom external swing doors for an existing house that is undergoing renovation.
The specifications provided by the client are outlined below and in the attachments.
These will be custom-made doors for this client, so it's crucial to minimize production costs. The completion deadline is end of November.
The doors open inwards to the garage-cellar.
The doors swing on both sides, with two panels each.
The doors are insulated.
Double glazed components with frosted glass.
Handle with a key on both sides.
It's not necessary to have glass in every panel, but it looks nice.
Window opening dimensions: 243 x 187.
Current door dimensions: 255 x 191 - where 191 is the maximum height from the floor to the ceiling.
The doors are somewhat inset from the inside of the frame, except for the floor, which is flush with "0" without a threshold.
They don't have to look exactly like the drawing attached.
They can be in three parts. It's important that one of the panels is a guiding one.
The side panels can be secured with top-bottom bolts/hooks (traditionally).
Painted in either black or green according to the RAL palette.
Below is a list of questions i am awaiting confirmation:
Does the door frame stay?
Do the hinges in the door frame stay (they look sturdy, but old, so there may be difficulty matching them, and they may need to be made or fitted from the existing doors)?
Do the doors need to meet any standards (related to the required insulation)?
Is the external material flexible?
Should the front-facing seals be part of the project?
All answers to the technical questions will be sent to the Q&A.
