Engineering drawings for an outside waterproof molded plastic storage box using 1/4 turn fasteners for all parts. Three sizes needed, 30, 70 and 100 gallon capacity.

Job ID: 37585029

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am seeking an experienced professional to make engineering drawings for an outside waterproof storage box. The box should be molded from High-density polyethylene (HDPE), with the capacity of storing 30, 70, and 100 gallons. Insights into the specifications and requirements are as follows:

- MATERIAL: The box should be structured with High-density polyethylene (HDPE), proven to be strong and reliable.

- DESIGN: It should have a smooth finish on the inside for a modern appearance and ease of cleaning and the appearance of vertically aligned wood boards on the outside surfaces. Furthermore, it should employ 1/4 turn fasteners for ALL attachments. All attachment holes will be pre-drilled. Four walls of box will attach to each other with 1/4 turn fasteners which are accessible from the inside of the box with a screwdriver head, lid will attach to rear wall with two metal hinges and bottom floorboard will slide into grooves at the bottom of side panels. Will need a pneumatic metal hinge attached to one side panel connected to the lid to keep lid in open position when being used. When closed the lid should hang over the leading edges of the side panels to restrict water/rain from entering. When completed, boxes should be able to support weight of 200lbs on top.

- USABILITY: The design external features include an indented area near the top of the sides for user to grip box for transportation. Will need a rubber latch on the front edge lid (similar to Yeti Cooler latch) that attaches to the front panel and holds the lid closed. Will also need two small padlock eyelits. One for the lid and one for the front panel that align when the lid is closed, so a user and put a padlock on for security. Two inside metal hinges connecting the lid to the rear wall are needed also.

Ideal candidates should have experience in product design, engineering, and material selection, particularly with regard to molding HDPE. Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) is desired as we aim for a functional, cost-effective, and simplistic design. Fluency in CAD software is a must.
