DXF Prep for Laser Marking
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I need a clean, production-ready DXF that combines three elements: our SVG logo, a line of text set in Arial font, and any paths converted to curves for reliable laser marking. The final version should look like the powerpoint attached herewith.
Here is the exact workflow I’m after:
1) Import and, if necessary, tweak the supplied SVG so it appears in AutoCAD or similar exactly as it does in a standard image viewer. Minor node cleanup or colour-to-single-stroke conversion is fine as long as the visual integrity stays intact. I have attached 2 versions of the logo. Work with whatever you are comfortable with. The logo text is in Dosis Extra Bold Font. The font file is also attached.
2) Add a text field that will later hold serial numbers or other unique identifiers. Write the text in Arial; I’ll need the characters kerned and positioned so the laser has no overlaps or double lines.
3) Convert every object—including the text—into curves/outlines for the final, ready-to-mark DXF.
Deliverables
• Final DXF with all paths outlined and appropriately grouped for the laser.
• An editable version in which the text remains live, letting us swap the serial number for future runs.
I usually work in FreeCAD, so compatibility with it is ideal. If you rely on CorelDRAW, Inkscape, or Fusion 360, that’s fine—just make sure the output opens flawlessly in FreeCAD.
