DXF File Automated Geometry Analysis
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
The goal of this project is to automatically analyze DXF cross-section files of aluminium extrusion profiles and extract key geometric parameters.
The DXF files are clean and contain only the profile cross section geometry, without dimensions, text, or annotations.
The tool must process multiple DXF files in batch and export the results in a structured table.
Input
One or more DXF files
Each DXF contains only the profile cross section
Geometry consists of closed contours (outer contour and optional inner contours)
Units: millimeters (mm)
Geometry definitions
1. Cross section area
Definition: Net aluminium cross-sectional area
Calculation:
Area of the outer closed contour
Minus the areas of all internal closed contours
Unit: mm2
2. Circumscribed circle
Definition: Smallest circle that fully contains the entire profile cross section
Output:
Circumscribed circle diameter
Unit: mm
3. Chambers
Definition: Number of internal closed contours (voids)
Solid profiles have 0 chambers
Output
For each DXF file, the tool must generate one row with:
File name
Cross section area [mm2]
Circumscribed circle diameter [mm]
Number of chambers
Status (OK / error)
The output must be exported as:
CSV or Excel file
