Custom Excel Joinery Quoting Spreadsheet
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
Joinery Quoting Spreadsheet – Project Brief
We need a custom Excel quoting spreadsheet for our joinery company. The goal is to make quoting projects fast, consistent, and user-friendly, while still being backed by all the detailed cost calculations in the background.
What We’re Looking For
Front-end simplicity:
A clean interface where staff can easily enter cabinet quantities (for quick quotes) or detailed dimensions and options (for advanced quotes). The inputs should be easy to use with dropdowns and clear editable cells.
Back-end calculations (hidden but automated):
The spreadsheet should automatically calculate:
Materials – board usage, edging, finishes, waste factors.
Hardware – hinges, drawers, runners, handles, bins, lifts, etc.
Labour – drafting, machining, assembly, installation (using standard hours per module or per task).
Overheads & Profit – configurable % or per-hour burden.
Delivery & Site Costs – delivery zones, access factors (stairs, etc.).
Contingency / Warranty – small % allowance.
Final Pricing – cost + profit + GST, with milestone payment schedule.
Room-by-room quoting:
Ability to build quotes for kitchens, pantries, laundries, robes, vanities, living rooms, etc., then roll them up into a full house package.
Outputs:
A client-ready quote summary (clean, branded, exportable as PDF).
A detailed cost breakdown (for internal use).
A BOM/purchasing list showing all required sheets, edging, hardware, etc.
Key Requirements
Must support two modes:
Simple Mode (enter cabinet quantities only).
Advanced Mode (enter custom sizes/options).
Back-end data tables for material prices, hardware costs, labour rates, overhead %, profit margins, waste factors.
Ability to easily update pricing in one place when costs change.
Locked/secured formulas so users can’t break the background logic.
Professional, polished layout with clear colour coding for input vs. calculated cells.
Deliverables
Fully working Excel workbook with all formulas and logic built in.
Instructions for how to update pricing tables in the future.
Branded quote summary page that can be exported to PDF for clients.
