Cryogenic Helical Coil HX
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a complete thermal design, CAD Modeling & Drafting, CFD analysis and material selection for a helical-coil heat exchanger that will handle liquid nitrogen in the –196 °C to (15-20 )°C and maximum pressure is 680bar . The exchanger will operate strictly in the liquid phase to gas phase , so the sizing, heat-transfer coefficients, and pressure-drop calculations must all reflect cryogenic liquid a properties and gaseous behaviour.
Please deliver:
• A clearly laid-out calculation workbook (Excel or similar) showing heat duty, required coil length, diameter, pitch, number of turns, overall UA, inside/outside film coefficients, and pressure loss on both sides.
• A concise design note (PDF or Word) explaining assumptions, correlations, and any safety or material considerations specific to liquid nitrogen service.
• A simple CAD or hand drawing that translates the numbers into a buildable coil geometry.
Feel free to use HTRI, Aspen EDR, or your own in-house tools; just be sure the methodology is transparent so I can verify or adjust parameters later.
