Freelance Packaging & Structural Box Designer Needed (Die-Line / Blueprint)

I am looking for an experienced structural packaging designer to design a premium cardboard DIY activity kit box for children.

This is not a graphic design project. I need someone who can create the structural design (die-line) and manufacturing blueprint that can be directly shared with a packaging manufacturer.

Scope of Work

The selected freelancer will:

* Design the complete structural packaging of the box.
* Create a production-ready die-line (cutting and folding layout).
* Design all folds, flaps, locking mechanisms, and insert placements.
* Recommend the most practical and cost-effective construction while maintaining a premium appearance.
* Design the internal layout so every component has its own dedicated space.
* Create custom cardboard inserts, dividers, and holders wherever required.
* Provide the layout of every individual cardboard piece required to manufacture the box.
* Ensure the design is suitable for mass manufacturing using die-cut cardboard.
* Suggest improvements to make the box sturdy, easy to assemble, and child-friendly.

Deliverables

* Manufacturing-ready die-line files (AI, PDF, DXF, or other industry-standard format).
* 2D blueprint with accurate dimensions.
* Fold, cut, crease, and glue indications.
* Layout of all individual parts required for manufacturing.
* Assembly guide showing how the box and inserts fit together.
* 3D mockup/renders of the final box.
* Source files.

About the Product

The product is a premium DIY activity kit for children. The box will contain multiple activity materials and accessories, each organised neatly inside dedicated compartments. I already have the product concept and rough idea of the contents. I need someone to convert that concept into a manufacturable packaging design.

The final design should:

* Look premium and gift-worthy.
* Be practical for manufacturing.
* Be durable enough for children.
* Minimise wasted material where possible.
* Be easy to assemble.

Ideal Freelancer

I’m looking for someone with experience in:

* Structural packaging design
* Die-line creation
* Corrugated or rigid cardboard packaging
* Packaging engineering
* Product packaging for toys, gifts, or retail products

Please share:

* Examples of packaging projects you’ve designed.
* Die-line samples or manufacturing blueprints.
* Experience working directly with packaging manufacturers.
* Estimated timeline and cost.

If you’ve designed packaging that has gone into production, that’s a strong advantage.
