Basement Conversion for Quadriplegic Accessibility

Job ID: 38496999

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I'm looking to convert my full basement into a living space that is fully accessible for my quadriplegic relative. The house is a stick-built structure located in Northern Michigan with a concrete block basement and an 8' ceiling.

Key Requirements:
- A remote-operated door to the outside
- An overhead lift from the bedroom to the shower stall
- The conversion must accommodate a roll-in shower in the bathroom
- The bedroom must also have special accessibility features
- The entry door to the converted living space needs to be remotely operated

The project involves working with the existing structure and maintaining the current layout, including keeping the furnace in the basement. Ideal candidates for this project should have experience with home accessibility modifications, particularly for medical needs, and be familiar with building codes and safety regulations for such modifications. Please provide examples of similar projects you have completed.
