Seeking a licensed structural engineer to develop and provide stamped, code-compliant engineering plans for a steel/metal Barndominium and its foundation. These plans will be submitted to the New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) for permitting and approval.

Scope of Work:

Provide detailed structural drawings for a steel/metal residential structure (Barndominium Approx. 2,000 SQ ft ).

Design an engineered foundation plan appropriate for site-specific soil and load conditions.

Ensure all plans meet New Mexico CID requirements and applicable building codes, including IBC, IRC, and local amendments.

Ideal Qualifications:

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with credentials accepted by the New Mexico Board of Licensure.

Experience with residential steel/metal structures, particularly Barndominiums or similar hybrid-use buildings.

Knowledge of multi-use design, with a focus on combining living, workspace, and storage under one roof.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent structural design software.

Familiarity with New Mexico building codes, including:

2021 IBC and IRC with NM amendments

Energy Code compliance (where applicable)

Wind and seismic zone considerations for NM regions

Foundation design suitable for site-specific conditions (soil report may be provided or required)

Must provide engineer-stamped plans acceptable for CID submittal.

Ability to assist with documentation as required for the permit package (structural calculations, load specs, etc.).
