AutoCad model drawn
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I am looking for a skilled AutoCad designer to create two 3D building design models for me.
Requirements:
- The models should be based on specific dimensions and blueprint that I will provide.
- The level of detail required in the model is intermediate, with more detailed features.
- The freelancer should have experience in creating 3D building designs and be able to accurately represent the dimensions and features of the building.
- Knowledge of AutoCad software is a must.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with precision is essential for this project.
I have full planning permission for a garden-located, single storey commercial building in a mews in Brockley, SE London. I can provide the Design and Access Statement (which I attach) and a full set of .dwg plans and elevations which I will happy to forward to the chosen professional. Ultimately I will probably need full build-out technical drawings for the chosen structure but first I need two reasonably well resolved 3D models that have been created in a SketchUp Make 2017 document to be converted into AutoCad models. The SketchUp Make 2017 model is attached.
The SketchUp model shows two approaches to the build radically different to that considered in the planning submissions though, of course, retaining the building's approved dimensions and exterior finishes. The first comprises an internally exposed lightweight 60mm SHS frame with ladder joists upon which a warm envelope made from insulated, corrugated steel panels will be attached in the manner of a tiny warehouse. The second involves a rather more conventional timber SIPs panel approach using a minimal, hidden composite steel and glulam frame (as you’ll see an attempt has been made in the right hand model to illustrate the 100mm I-bar steel elements) which will receive a skin of corrugated steel and incorporate hidden gutters.
Based only on the SketchUp models I have a couple of quotations for the latter utilising 145/147mm SIPs panels for the walls and 175/170 mm panels for the roof, the build-out depth of 300mm shown in the models is considered to be a reasonably generous estimate. We have partial quotes for the former, which we favour aesthetically, suggesting that approach may be better value as well as being more fun! Each approach is intended to reach Part L residential standards. They each better exploit the internal volume within the single storey than the method suggested in the Design and Access Statement by enabling the creation of two mezzanine levels, ostensively for storage. In the former this is achieved with the SHS frame whilst in the latter we’re considering using CnC cut plywood structures to form “pods" placed front right and left within the structure. The SketchUp models contains an impression of the two pods but they do not at this stage need to be converted unless this is very straightforward.
The AutoCad models produced at this stage need to be detailed enough to enable a structural engineer to assess the practicability and viability of each approach so that a fully informed choice can be made and, subsequently, structural calculations completed.
Given suitable conversion software this task should not be a difficult or lengthy one but, I admit, it has proved to be well beyond my technical expertise! Of course it may well be the case that redrawing such simple models may be just as quick and easy for a skilled exponent.
I should be grateful to receive a detailed quotation for the first stage of this technical drawing task with an additional estimate of the cost of the ultimate build-out drawing set which will, no doubt, involve a number of proper details.
