Architect Needed for Bakery Food Manufacturing Facility Design (ISO 22000 / FSSC Expertise Required)

We are seeking a highly experienced architect with a strong background in designing food manufacturing facilities—specifically bakeries. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in planning layouts that meet international food safety and quality standards, particularly ISO 22000 and preferably FSSC 22000.
The project involves designing a bakery production facility with an emphasis on:
• Efficient Facility Layout:
Developing a logical and hygienic flow for raw materials, production, packaging, and storage. The layout must support lean manufacturing principles, minimize cross-contamination risk, and be scalable for future growth.
• Food Safety Compliance:
Ensuring the facility design complies with ISO 22000 requirements. Familiarity with FSSC 22000 is a major plus, including prerequisite programs (PRPs) such as infrastructure hygiene, pest control zones, and segregation of high-risk areas.
• Operational Flow Design:
Designing clear workflows for staff, equipment, and materials, with zones for raw vs. finished goods, allergen handling, waste management, and cleaning protocols.
• Local Regulations & Standards:
Adapting the design to local building codes, fire safety regulations, and health department requirements while integrating global food safety standards.
• Collaboration & Deliverables:
You will work closely with our production and quality assurance teams to ensure the design is practical and compliant. Deliverables should include:
• Full architectural layout with zoning and labeling
• 2D/3D renderings or models
• Technical documentation to support food safety audits
• Utility planning (ventilation, drainage, water flow, etc.)
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Prior experience with bakery or food production facilities
• Strong knowledge of ISO 22000 and/or FSSC 22000 compliance design
• Understanding of HACCP-based layout planning
• Portfolio of relevant projects
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate remotely
