ASHRAE-Compliant Hospital HVAC Design

This project covers the complete HVAC design for the operating rooms of our new hospital wing. The system’s overriding goal is patient comfort, so temperature, humidity and pressure must remain stable even during peak surgical schedules. Every element of the design has to comply with the relevant ASHRAE standards for healthcare facilities.

You will be working from architectural plans that are already locked, and I can supply room data sheets, expected occupancy profiles and equipment heat gains. Please size the air-handling units, specify filtration levels, lay out supply-return ductwork, and calculate the minimum outdoor air required to keep contaminant levels well below recommended thresholds. Where pressure cascades are necessary (e.g., sterile core versus anteroom) call them out clearly.

Deliverables
• Complete load calculations and ventilation rates (Excel or equivalent)
• Equipment schedules with make/model and performance data
• Single-line and detailed duct layout drawings (DWG and PDF)
• Control sequence narrative focused on patient comfort parameters
• Compliance matrix referencing each applicable ASHRAE section

The design will be considered accepted once the calculations reconcile with field conditions within ±5 %, drawings are clash-free, and every ASHRAE requirement is ticked off in the compliance matrix.
