Steakhouse Interior Space Planning
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have secured a dramatic, 40-foot-ceiling space in an historic building for a Classic American Steakhouse and I need an experienced space planner to help me shape it into a welcoming, efficient dining room. Because the walls and ceiling are protected, every bit of zoning has to come from what we place on the floor.
Here is what I need you to solve:
• A flexible layout that mixes small tables for 2, 4 and 6 with larger tables for 10 and 20 while still feeling cohesive.
• Semi-private pockets for groups, created purely through the arrangement of classic wood furniture and generous indoor trees—no fixed partitions, no wall work.
• A path that keeps service traffic smooth and diners comfortable, taking full advantage of the soaring height without letting the room feel cavernous.
• A lighting concept built around warm ambient fixtures so the whole room glows without harsh hotspots.
As part of the design requirement, it is important that we can easily convert the space arrangement into banquet arrangement such as weddings, from the steakhouse design.
Deliverables I’m expecting
1. Scaled floor plan showing furniture, planter and circulation placement.
2. Visual mood references or quick 3-D views so I can see how the indoor trees and classic wood pieces read at eye level. Please provide two 3D renderings: a. Steakhouse; b. Wedding.
3. A concise specification sheet listing table sizes, planter dimensions and suggested fixture types.
If you’ve tackled open-plan restaurants, heritage sites or similarly height-challenged rooms before, I’d love to see your work. Let me know how you’d approach the zoning and what tools—SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar—you prefer so we can move straight into iterations.
