React Native Mapbox Setup

I’m building the MVP for “XY Guide”, a mobile city-guide that blends a street map, points-of-interest highlights, and a light AR mode. I already have the POI dataset ready to go; what I now need is a React Native specialist who can wire up Mapbox so that the core map experience is production-ready.

Your focus will be threefold:
• Map view – initialise Mapbox GL in React Native, centre it on the target city, enable smooth zoom/tilt, and keep performance solid on both iOS and Android.
• POI markers – ingest my existing JSON/GeoJSON dataset, plot each location with custom icons, and expose a callback so tapping a marker opens a placeholder details pane.
• Simple AR mode – switch from the standard map to a basic augmented-reality overlay that places the same POIs in camera view (ViroReact or a comparable Mapbox-compatible approach is fine).

On top of that, I’d like the map itself to reflect our brand colours, show 3-D building extrusions, and carry a subtle logo watermark. If you’ve shipped customised Mapbox styles before, this part should be quick.

Deliverables I expect:
1. A React Native project (or clean module) committed to the Git repo I’ll share.
2. All Mapbox style files (JSON) and asset/icons included.
3. A concise README covering setup, environment variables, and how to extend the POI dataset.
4. A brief hand-off call or video walkthrough.

The work is scoped as a short engagement; if we click, the roadmap includes AI features, voice guidance, and web porting, so there’s plenty more ahead. Let me know your earliest availability and any Mapbox apps you’ve already shipped.
