AR Hairstyle Preview App

I want a polished mobile application that lets salon customers see exactly how a cut or style will look on them—right from their phones—before they ever sit in a chair. The core of the project is a real-time augmented-reality hairstyle preview that runs smoothly on both iOS and Android.

Key workflow
• The user opens the app, grants camera permission, and takes a quick selfie within the interface.
• Your code detects the head/face position, then overlays selectable haircut models in AR so the client can flip through styles instantly.
• The preview must feel natural: scale, rotation and lighting should adapt automatically as the user moves.
• A simple “save & share” button lets them keep a snapshot for reference; everything beyond that (bookings, reviews, etc.) can wait for later phases.

Technical preferences
I am open to native (ARKit + ARCore) or a robust cross-platform stack such as Unity, Flutter with AR plugins, or React Native Viro—whichever you feel delivers the most consistent AR alignment and performance across devices.

Deliverables
• Production-ready iOS and Android builds
• Complete, well-commented source code
• Basic asset pack of popular hairstyles wired into the preview (placeholder files are fine for now; I’ll supply final assets later)
• Setup document so my team can compile, sign and publish future updates

Acceptance criteria
1. Accurate hair overlay stays locked to the user’s head through normal movement.
2. Average frame rate remains smooth (≈30 fps) on recent mid-range phones.
3. The initial selfie capture and style-switching flow is intuitive enough for a first-time user without extra explanation.
