Experienced School CFO Auditor

I run a large private school of more than 1,000 students and want an external set of C-level eyes on our books. Your background as a Chief Financial Officer in the education sector is essential—I’m looking for someone who already understands tuition cycles, grant funding, extracurricular revenue, and the unique cost structure that comes with running a campus this size.

Scope
You will conduct a full review of our accounting records, policies, and internal controls, then deliver a clear, actionable report that highlights accuracy, risk, and any opportunities for improved stewardship of funds. The engagement covers all ledgers, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules currently maintained by our in-house team; once you are onboard, I’ll provide secure access to the current general ledger, trial balance, and supporting documentation.

Key deliverables
• An audit report that states your findings and opinion on our financial statements
• A management letter summarizing recommended process or control improvements
• A concise executive summary—suitable for presentation to our board—outlining the school-specific implications of your findings

I’ll be available throughout for Q&A and can arrange meetings with department heads as needed. If you’ve led or overseen audits for large schools before, especially those exceeding the 1,000-student mark, I’d love to see a brief note on that experience in your proposal along with your estimated timeline.
