Sound Mixing
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Select any 5 or more elements from the group folder - chose ‘group’ elements which feel sonically interesting, emotive or personally relevant to you.
Create a 5 minute soundscape / audio work in response to your selected group elements, combined with your own unique (ie non-group) ideas, elements and processes.
Your response could take the form of one of the following, or a response of your own invention:
- a 'podcast style' audio-interview with another class member discussing 'the sound of home'
- a musical work incorporating sound-design
- a ‘remix’ of the ‘sound(s) of home’
- an impressionistic / deconstructed / audio-montage based work or soundscape.
- a narrative-based ‘sound-walk’ based on ideas of home.
- a recorded text (poem, script etc) incorporating audio recordings.
In addition to exploring audio editing and processing techniques YOU should incorporate one or more instances of a virtual instrument.
*The original elements you add CANNOT be taken from sound-libraries. These must be original recordings or compositional elements.
The purpose here is to engage with the material in a way which is personal to you, and to also contribute elements for group resources
Support Documents
You must supply:
- a final session as a normalized stereo .wav file
- screen-grabs of their ProTools session clearly showing tracks, effects, automation etc.
- A list of audio elements incorporated from the group collection.
