Slumpgang Records Studio
Slumpgang Records Studio is a sound recording studio located in North Hollywood, CA. Slumpgang Records Studio Recording Engineer will work out of a 24/7 booking schedule as needed. The primary responsibility of this position is to control all aspects of voice recording and on- and off-site production quality audio and facial capture for all performances. The person in this role will be a key contributor to shaping the sound of all recordings. They may record, edit, and mix sound through their choice (or that of the client) of microphones, setting levels and sound manipulation techniques. In some instances, the Recording Engineer is also the Producer, overseeing both artistic and technical elements of the recording session.
The role of Assistant Recording Engineer report to the Senior Recording Engineer and Studio Manager.
Responsibilities:
Roll sound and support audio equipment setup (for Voice Capture, etc.) in various recording settings, including studio booths.
Setup, and breakdown of sound equipment including the placement of speakers, speaker boards, speaker cabinets, mixers, sound systems, monitor wedges, and amplifiers, as needed in studio as well as on the Performance Capture stage.
Perform sound checks before the sessions, including the wiring of microphones, channels, equalization of all channels and frequency levels.
Assist internal project Producers by relaying any session risks and sourcing needed equipment (or troubleshooting said equipment).
Assist project Producers with Facial Capture, Motion Capture, Performance Capture and other on/off-site location bidding to obtain proper cost estimates.
Foresee and report issues with house or mobile gear and assist in the inventory of all sound equipment.
Work with client and project Producers to resolve any issues encountered during implementation and drive the quality of the audio experience to the best level possible.
Required Skills:
Education: 1+ year Technical/Vocational audio training required.
Experience Required: 1+ years as a professional audio engineer with digital audio editing and processing including ProTools
1+ years working within a Windows/Linux based network
Working knowledge of common sound engineering/sound design practices and terminology – especially in the video game industry
Working knowledge and experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Access)
Ability to collaborate in a results-oriented team
Impeccable verbal and strong written communications skills:
Ability to prioritize workload to achieve goals established in a team environment
Meticulous attention to detail and time management
Sharp analytical abilities and proven problem-solving skills:
Insists on the highest standards from self and others.
Must be flexible and available to meet ever-changing needs of clients (requiring occasional after-hours availability).

BA/BS in Audio engineering, Experience Freelancing Engineering, BM in Music Technology, BA in Media or equivalent preferred.
