Expert audio engineer, speaker # and placement advice
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
designing home theatre, have a pretty decent idea what I want the capabilities to be, but would like to have an expert review my ideas and make sure I'm not either completely missing something, or if there are more efficient ways to go about it.
In addition, I have a 3d model of my room (created for other reasons, but conveniently is 100% to measure) - I am planning on putting up sound dampening material but didn't want to just willly nilly throw it up.
Anyhow, to the point: I was hoping for some specific placement advice. Am perfectly willing to perform testing myself, but I don't know the extent of what I don't know, and I'm not trying to toss my piggy bank against the wall and be disappointing in the purchase.
The expectations from my end:
- we can have a decent conversation about the why's what I'm doing so I trust that you understand what I'm trying to acieve, not just building your system in my room
- I have a list of speaker drivers to buy by the end
- I have an understanding of the cabinenets needed to make those drivers sound the best
- I have amp specifications either for the entire system, each driver, or whatever is necessary.
- I have a very specific idea of where to place the speakers in the system around my room
- Preferably marked on the 3d diagram
- AV reciver req's
- what features are absolutely required, nice to have, and useless?
- and finally - some advice for if I'm going to try and purchase this equipment secondhand or what have you, how to avoid getting fucked.
