ACTOR WANTED – Character Role: Mateus Kandimba (Angolan Ex-Mercenary, 60s)
We are seeking a black male actor, approx. age 60, to play the role of Mateus Kandimba, a fictional former Angolan mercenary. This is a one-time, in-character doorstep performance as part of a long-running and affectionate practical joke.
The role involves:
Appearing unannounced at a residential address in Nottingham.
Delivering a short, dramatic monologue or improvised exchange (to be provided and rehearsed).
Presenting a "relic" from Angola and referencing shared military history.
Remaining in character throughout a brief, mysterious visit (~5–10 minutes).
Requirements:
Strong improvisational skills.
Gravitas, subtle humour, and the ability to carry a convincing accent or backstory (guidance provided).
Sense of humour and appreciation of eccentric British dad-humour.
This is a paid gig, to include a short debrief afterwards.
