Troubleshoot Sprinter Stereo Wiring Noise

Job ID: 40100177

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a 2020 Mercedes Sprinter that I recently outfitted with an Alpine iLX-receiver, four Focal door speakers, a Kicker sub, and a Clarion mono amp. Everything powers on, but I’m now chasing three problems:

• The top priority is a persistent buzzing that appears the moment the amp is switched on—even with the engine off.
• The right-rear Focal plays only intermittently.
• My steering-wheel volume and track buttons no longer respond.

The amp’s ground has not been verified, and I suspect either a grounding loop or a pin-out mistake in the factory harness adapter. All speakers and the amplifier are already physically mounted and wired; what I need is a methodical diagnostic session, clean re-termination where required, and final tuning so the system runs silent and the factory controls return.

Please be comfortable tracing 12 V automotive wiring, testing grounds with a multimeter, isolating RCA noise, and, if necessary, integrating CAN-bus steering-wheel interfaces for Alpine head units.

Deliverables:
- Buzz-free audio at any volume with the amp engaged
- Consistent output from the right-rear speaker
- Fully functional steering-wheel controls for volume, track skip, and phone

Once those checkpoints are met, I’ll sign off and leave a detailed review.
