Swappable NE5532 Audio Preamp PCB
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I want a small, low-noise pre-amplifier built around the NE5532, powered from an external ±15 V AC adapter. The board will slot straight into my DIY projects, so please place the op-amp in an 8-pin DIP socket for easy swapping and surround it with proper rail filtering and local decoupling:
• bulk filter capacitors on each rail (before and after any regulators you choose)
• 100 nF ceramics tight to every NE5532 supply pin
I need two input connection styles on the same PCB—standard RCA jacks plus snap-on terminals—so the preamp can drop into other snap-on equipped modules without adapters. Output may remain RCA only.
Deliverables
• Complete schematic in your preferred CAD package (KiCad, Eagle, or Altium are all fine)
• Clean PCB layout and production-ready Gerbers with drill files
• BOM with manufacturer part numbers and footprints
• Brief design note confirming expected gain, input impedance, and simulated noise/THD figures
Keep the signal path short, ground routing solid, and leave enough clearance so hobbyists can hand-solder everything. If anything is unclear, tell me early so we lock the spec before you route the board.
