Produce/Mix & Master 1 song from our album
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Modern Monks – $1,250 Song Mix Contest
The Goal:
Take one of our 24 rough demos and turn it into a fully produced, radio‑ready track. The single best submission walks away with US $1,250 and the opportunity to be our full-time audio engineer.
Smaller prizes ($100-$400) will be awarded to the best individual mix of each song and also for standout contributions.
How to Enter (it’s fast):
- Pick a song – Stream the demos → https://soundcloud.com/evannagao/sets/modernmonksdemos
- Download stems – Drive folder → https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1qxJ3EhicnQjatxgJ2lNyxhIJPW0oG5Qt
- Create – Add parts if you like, then mix & master.
- Submit your final edit on Freelancer – Upload WAV/MP3 to google drive and link it in your contest submission (make sure you make the file public so we can view it). File name should be as follows: “SongTitleVersionNumber_YourUsername.mp3” (example: "DreamerV1_JohnSmith.mp3").
Prizes will be awarded not only to the best production/mix, but also to the best individual mix of EACH song. So there's a lot of opportunity to win! Also, we will be awarding prizes to people who make standout contributions. For example, if you're a drummer, adding live drums (recorded on separate stems) to a song can also merit a cash reward, if done well.
Judging (30‑day contest, ends July 1st):
40 % Sonic quality (mixing and mastering)
40 % Creative production
20 % Extras (live drums, bass, background vocals, collabs, etc...)
