Linux Audio Distortion (Installed in old Mac)

I'm seeking an experienced Linux specialist to fix distorted audio on my Linux Cinnamon setup running on an old Mac. Currently, the sound is distorted with all audio output. I hear a grainy noise when playing music. Earlier it was perfect in my mac pc before I switched to linux. Since the pc was old and there is no more OS support I switched to a light weight OS.

Requirements:
- Diagnose and fix distortion issues
- Experience with Linux Cinnamon and Mac hardware
- No need for external audio devices for testing
