ESP32 SqueezeLite Multiroom Setup
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I want to reproduce the system shown in https://youtu.be/DwotxrCvHTA?si=pOedzNOmwYBqqL0g on my own ESP32 boards so I can stream lossless-quality music to multiple rooms. The end result should behave like a native SqueezeLite endpoint that my Windows-based Logitech Media Server instantly discovers, with playback perfectly in sync across every device.
Key requirements
• Build or adapt the squeezelite-esp32 firmware so it runs stably on common ESP32 modules (ESP32-WROOM or equivalent).
• Output lossless audio (44.1 kHz / 16-bit or better) through I2S to an external DAC; no audible drop-outs, pops, or resampling artefacts.
• Enable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and AirPlay input so I can choose any of those transports at runtime and still keep everything synchronised.
• Provide clear flashing instructions plus a minimal Windows utility or script so I can deploy updates to new boards quickly.
Please document any pins used, required libraries, build flags, and your test setup so I can replicate the results exactly. If you have suggestions for buffer sizes, clock settings or preferred DAC chips, include them as well. A short demo video proving multi-room sync and gapless playback will serve as final acceptance.
