DaVinci 5.1 Mixing Lesson
Budget: $50 – $0 USD
I’m new to DaVinci Resolve Studio and need a hands-on walkthrough that shows me, step by step, how to take my existing project and mix it into true 5.1 surround. I already have:
• an MP4 video file
• a clean WAV with all dialogue/action
• a separate WAV with the music track
What I want from you is a live session (screen-share preferred) where you demonstrate and guide me while I work on my own machine. The focus should be on the Fairlight page: creating a 5.1 bus, correctly mapping each stem, balancing levels, panning elements, and confirming that the meters are reading properly. Once everything is placed, please show me the correct export settings so I end up with a single file that carries the 5.1 mix without phase or channel errors.
By the end of the lesson I should be able to:
• set up a new 5.1 project template in Resolve
• import and sync my WAV stems with the MP4
• route tracks to the surround bus and adjust spatial placement
• run a quick loudness check
• export a final 5.1 deliverable that will pass QC
If you have any optional pointers on quick automation or Fairlight shortcuts, that’s a bonus, but the core goal is giving me a repeatable workflow I can use on future videos. Please let me know your availability for a real-time session and the approximate length you think we’ll need.
