I am a new YouTube creator building a channel for Gen X professionals navigating career change, self-discovery, and starting over. My content is raw, honest, and conversational—like a deep talk with a friend.
I need a skilled editor to transform my raw, talk-to-camera footage into a compelling, polished video that holds attention and enhances my story. The edit must feel natural and human, not overproduced. My first video is a powerful personal narrative about my layoff after a 30-year career.
Project Scope & Deliverables:
Edit a 10-15 minute YouTube vlog from raw footage (single camera, clean audio).
Apply clean cuts, smooth transitions, and logical pacing to serve the narrative.
Add subtle, relevant B-roll (I will provide some clips/images; you may suggest/source additional simple, non-distracting stock clips if needed).
Add clean lower-thirds, titles, and end screens (branding/assets provided).
Perform consistent color correction & audio balancing.
Suggest and add subtle, appropriate background music that matches the reflective/empowering tone.
Deliver: Final MP4 (1080p or 4K) + FULL editable project file (Premiere Pro preferred).
What I'm Looking For (The Right Fit):
A storyteller, not just a technician. You must understand how to build emotion and maintain audience retention through pacing.
Experience with YouTube vlogs, personal stories, or documentary-style content. Please provide examples.
Clean, modern aesthetic. No flashy effects, overly dramatic transitions, or "corporate" vibe.
Proactive communicator. You ask questions and suggest creative ideas that serve the story.
Understanding of YouTube best practices (chapter creation, hook placement, retention).
