Forensic Vocal Pattern Extraction
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a set of short, very muddy cell-phone recordings (saved as .m4a files) that need to be examined for forensic voice analysis. Simple EQ or noise-reduction passes are not enough—I have to isolate and document specific vocal patterns, phrasing and inflections, not merely boost overall speech frequencies.
The task
• Extract every discernible vocal event from the background clutter without introducing artifacts that could compromise admissibility.
• Supply a clean, clearly intelligible file (24-bit WAV preferred) plus a brief technical note describing the methods you applied—spectral repair, adaptive filtering, machine-learning separation, etc.—so the chain of custody and methodology are transparent.
Acceptance criteria
• Target voice stands at least +12 dB above residual noise throughout.
• No spectral “holes” or time-domain smearing that would alter the speaker’s cadence.
• Final deliverables play back error-free on standard forensic-audio suites such as iZotope RX or Cedar.
