Ambisonic Post Production Teach Me A Workflow
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m fairly experienced with video but complete audio Newbie. I recently acquired the Rode NT SF1 and Zoom F6 recorder. I use FCP as my video editor. I record nature, forest, ocean ambience etc. I am recording Ambisonic in 32 bit float, AmbiX B Format or A Format on F6 and Rode NT SF1.
Looking for a simple workflow to give my listeners on YouTube an immersive binaural type experience. As if they were in the forest or by the ocean themselves.
I don't have time to learn a DAW inside out or become an audio engineer. I need someone to give me a click by click workflow, within appropriate DAW. Right down to setting up channels/tracks to accommodate 4 channel ambisonic recording. So I can import recordings from Rode NT SF1 in AmbiX B Format or A Format from Zoom F6 32 bit float recorder. Use the Rode Soundfield Plugin to manipulate the sound (mostly widening stereo field to give a binaural /surround feel but obviously outputted in stereo to YouTube, or at least I think that's how it works). Told you, complete audio newbie except fiddling with panner, compressor and channel EQ inside FCP. How to output so I can then bring in to FCP and sync the audio to the video and work on it from there.
I need the workflow set out click by click in DAW, as if for Dummies;) I will be posting many YouTube videos, so need this workflow, as don't have the budget to have someone engineer to this for every video I create. Setting for Europe in 3 weeks time, so need to have a click by click workflow in place for 3 month trip, where I will be creating Relaxation videos for YouTube.
