Replace Traditional PBX with IP Pbx and/or Freepbx, etc..
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
In an organization in India they have 20 years old PBX system which handles calls. We can call to an Indian number from outside the primises and hear this message: "Welcome to xxx organization, please dial the extension number or wait for the operator". Operator redirects to an extension or we dial the extension to reach the user in the premises.
So, the number is from Tata provider which is connected to the hardware based PBX for incoming/outgoing calls and in premises calls to each table.
As it is a very old system, there is no call waiting and many issues.. and huge cost to upgrade or replace the PBX with many features.
DUE TO THIS WE THOUGHT TO USE FREEPBX or something else... We're open to use HostedPBX or install FreePBX/Asterix into our local server and then buy VOIP Gateway to make the existing telephones (old phones) to work with the FreePbx (maybe via SIP Trunk)? I don't know much.
Let me know the solution you can provide us: setting up the ip based pbx (on cloud or on premises). Most important thing is that we do not want to buy new ip phones or softphones. Existing traditional phones should work with the FreePbx/Asterix/Clould IPPbx solutions.
We can then bypass the existing old PBX... If you think that we should continue to use old PBX but add SIP trunk, we're open, but don't know if that will give call waiting to the external caller, etc.
Please share your views. let me know what you would plan and your charges.
Based on your offer, I can talk to TATA or JIO to provide SIP TRUNK or Hosted PPX (if trunk is not needed) and so on.... Basically we do not want to change the phone number of the organization, and I don't know if hosted ip pbx can use the same phone...
Let me know your plan and what you would achieve for us.
Thanks
