My web site - marketdigestonline.com - is hosted by GoDaddy. I write a daily stock market newsletter and it's mostly a hobby so my site only generates about $10k a year in revenues. My site has been down since January 29. The message below is what GoDaddy sent me that will be helpful to make my site operational
From GoDaddy Tech Support... I am writing to bring your attention to an important matter regarding the database connection strings for marketdigestonline.com. Currently, the connection string includes the port number within the host name, which is causing issues. To rectify this, please update the connection string by removing the port number from the host name. For example, use "P3NWPLSK12SQL-v11.shr.prod.phx3.secureserver.net" instead of "P3NWPLSK12SQL-v11.shr.prod.phx3.secureserver.net:1443". Additionally, I would like to highlight that the current method used in the connection string, "sqloledb", is outdated and may no longer be supported. Microsoft has provided information on this, which can be found at the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/oledb/oledb-driver-for-sql-server?view=sql-server-ver16 I kindly request you review the connection string and its syntax. This update is crucial to ensure smooth database operations for marketdigestonline.com. I would also like to inform you that we have successfully connected to the database using our proprietary approved test script for MS SQL databases. Therefore, there is no indication at this time that the database content has been corrupted. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Best regards, John H. Technical Hosting Support GoDaddy
