Introduction:
I am looking for a skilled freelancer to upgrade my ASP.NET Core 2.2 application to ASP.NET Core 7x, including but not limited to upgrading all thing that need to be upgraded and ensuring that after upgrade the application should run smoothly without errors on my laptop. The successful Freelancer will possess expertise in a range of technologies, including .NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities:
The freelancer will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Project Understanding:
• Analyze the existing ASP.NET Core 2.2 application and its architecture.
• Identify dependencies, third-party libraries, and external services that may require updates.
Note: There is no payment for this milestone as the time/hrs for reviewing the code and getting understanding is based on FreeLancer’s knowledge, experience, and skills

2. Upgrade to ASP.NET Core 7:
• Migrate the ASP.NET Core 2.2 application to ASP.NET Core 7x while ensuring code compatibility.
• Update NuGet packages, references, and dependencies to their latest compatible versions.
• Address any breaking changes introduced in ASP.NET Core 7x.

3. Database Migration:
• Ensure the Microsoft SQL Server database schema is compatible with ASP.NET Core 7x.
• Update Entity Framework Core (EF Core) if necessary.
• Perform database schema migrations to align with the updated application.

4. Error Resolution:
• Identify and resolve any compilation errors, runtime errors, or exceptions.
• Update deprecated APIs and libraries to maintain functionality.

5. Testing and Debugging:
• Thoroughly test the upgraded application on a local development environment to ensure it runs without issues.
• Debug and fix any issues that arise during testing.

6. Front-end Compatibility:
• Verify that HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript components are compatible with ASP.NET Core 7x.
• Update or refactor front-end code as necessary to ensure a seamless user experience.

7. Documentation:
• Provide clear documentation of changes made during the upgrade process, including updates to code, configurations, and dependencies.
• Document any potential issues or challenges that may require future attention.

8. Optimization:
• Suggest and implement performance optimizations as applicable.


Skills Required:
The freelancer should possess the following skillset:

Timeline and Deliverables:
The freelancer should provide the following deliverables within the agreed-upon timeline:
• A successfully upgraded ASP.NET Core 7x application that runs without errors on the local development environment.
• Documentation detailing the upgrade process, code changes, and potential future considerations.
• Any additional recommendations or optimizations for the application.

Remote Access:
The freelancer will be provided with remote access to my laptop where the application is running/hosted. Collaboration and work will be done remotely, with regular communication and updates. The freelancer should be available during Atlantic Canada time zone hours for effective coordination.

NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement):
The freelancer will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before commencing work on the project. Under the NDA, the freelancer will be legally bound to keep all project-related information confidential and not disclose any sensitive information to third parties.

Restrictions:
Coping (copying) anything from the laptop and uploading anything to the laptop will be strictly prohibited. Any breach of this restriction will be considered a violation of the NDA and may result in legal action.
