ASIC Bitcoin Mining Unit Creation Hardware and Software

Job ID: 40172419

Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP

Bitcoin ASIC Mining Unit Development (Hardware + Firmware + Mining Software Integration)

Project Description

We are building a new Bitcoin ASIC mining unit and we are looking for an experienced engineer or team who can handle both hardware and software development.

This is a serious hardware + firmware + mining integration project, not a basic app or website.

We need someone who understands how ASIC mining systems work, including:

ASIC chip control and configuration

Hashboard/controller development

Firmware development for mining operation

Mining pool (Stratum) integration

Performance monitoring + stability systems

Scope of Work

The selected freelancer will be responsible for:

Hardware / Mining Controller Work

Help design and/or integrate a controller system for ASIC hashboards

Communication with ASIC chips (via control interfaces used in miners)

Power, thermal, fan, and sensor integration support

System bring-up and debugging

Firmware / Low-Level Software Development

Develop firmware to control ASIC chips (clocking, voltage tuning, initialization, work distribution)

Control fan speed + temperature protection logic

Implement watchdog + auto-recovery mechanisms

Optimize stability and performance

BTC Mining Software Integration

Integrate with mining pools using Stratum protocol

Handle work reception, nonce processing, share submission

Support pool failover, reconnect logic, and worker configuration

Monitoring & Management

Provide a web UI or API for:

Hashrate reporting

Temperature and fan monitoring

Error logs

Device status and uptime

Configuration management

Skills Required

We are looking for someone with proven experience in:

Bitcoin ASIC miners (real mining hardware experience required)

Embedded Linux firmware development

C / C++ (required), Python/Go optional

Hardware communication protocols (SPI / I2C / UART)

Stratum mining pool communication

Debugging real hardware (bring-up, stability testing)

Bonus (strong advantage):

Experience with existing miner firmware platforms (cgminer forks / custom stacks)

FPGA experience (if needed for prototyping)

PCB design knowledge (Altium/KiCad)

Deliverables

ASIC mining firmware/controller software

Working pool connection + share submission

Stable hashrate operation with safety protections

Monitoring API/dashboard

Logs + error handling + recovery system

Full documentation + setup instructions

Source code delivered via Git repository

Testing results (24–72 hours stability test)

Questions for Applicants (Required)

Please answer these when applying:

Have you worked on a real ASIC Bitcoin miner project before? Share details.

Which firmware stack would you recommend (custom vs modified miner firmware) and why?

What controller architecture do you suggest for ASIC hashboards?

What is your estimated timeline + cost for a working prototype?

How will you test stability, temperature safety, and performance?
