'I think you have a problem': AfriForum's bid to halt R50m Cuban donation is legally shaky, judge says
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Judge Brenda Neukircher, who presided over AfriForum's application for an immediate order to stop the government from making a planned R50-million donation to Cuba, warned the lobby group that its case for the interdict was weak and could be premature.
Neukircher warned AfriForum's legal representative, advocate Johan Hamman, during the presentation of arguments in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Thursday that the applicants were misreading communication provided to them by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) and National Treasury.
