A perspective on aging

Growing older is a concept and experience many of us will encounter. Many studies show that social workers are not prepared to work appropriately with people who are older. Often social workers are unaware of the process of growing older. For some people, this is a great and dynamic process, for others, it can be a scary and anxiety-provoking process.
In many of our own families, we do not know what questions to ask our friends and loved ones about growing older. We could be afraid of offending others or causing negative feelings. However, social workers must be inquisitive and research-oriented if they seek to find answers.
For this assignment, each student will select a person over 60 years of age to interview. The person could be a friend, colleague, family member, or anyone of your choosing.
Each student will develop at least 10 interview questions, using chapters 14-16 from the book, and other book chapters as your guide. You must prepare your paper in APA format margining theories and developmental stages concepts with your interview. This paper should not be written in an interview format but in a paper format.
