Writing Blog Content About Ballistic Armor
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are a brand and retailer in the ballistic body armor industry looking to launch a robust content marketing program on our website. When we launch the program, we would like to have a backlog of quality content already live on the website featuring both fact-based technical educational articles with sources, and product-centric content (we can provide data and talking points). There are a lot of charlatans in our industry and we want to stand apart by demonstrating a certain level of competence and authority on our products that others throw buzzwords at.
Content will need to be written in a conversational tone but from a position of authority, based on facts and thorough in substance. This content cannot be fake it until you make it.
We will need many articles written to the following specifications:
- 500+ and 1000+ word articles.
- Incorporating visual aids and graphics into content as appropriate.
- Some articles will be expository content about our product.
- Some articles will be industry-wide education (e.g. "How armor is are made", etc)
This project listing is specifically to write three fact-based educational articles in a conversational tone with sources cited. The article topics are:
1: What are the levels of NIJ ballistic rating? What is the difference? Which bullets can each rating stop? (500 words min.)
2: How are ballistic helmets made? (1000 words min)
3: What are the differences in ballistic helmet materials (UHMWPE vs Kevlar vs "other" aramid materials) (1000 words min)
There may be some very technical content, but it all needs to be written to be educational, factual, and yet conversational to the people who already know it. We will assist in providing some resources, context, and background for your writing, but you are responsible for your own research and sources. Your audience will be a blend of highly educated military supply officers, active duty military, police department buyers, law enforcement officers, and "preppers". This is, collectively, a highly discerning and skeptical audience and they will recognize fluff and incorrect content immediately. Obviously that is not an option.
Remember, these are educational articles and blog content. These are not technical white papers, scholarly articles, or verbose blog posts without substance. They are quality, fact based educational articles.
The topics listed above are only the first three articles, treated as a sort of paid interview. We have a long, very full content calendar with lots of aggressive timelines and we are looking for a permanent freelance writer. If we find that we work well together, this has the potential to turn into a long-term project!
