Veteran Falls Thru The Cracks

Job ID: 36799182

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Hi, my name is John and I am trying to raise funds to cover my continuing increasing medical bills that the Veterain Affaires won't help me with. Their Foreign Medical program is at least six months behind in payment or they just won't cover the treatment for whatever reason they make up. So I am constantly looking down a black hole of debt with no way out of it. I constantly worried do I have the money to cover my Doctors FEEs for this month plus my personal needs like rent and food. I currently of a claim into the VA since July 28th of last year and it still sitting at gathering evidence. My Doctor does not want me driving unless I have front and side sinsers to alert me if a car stops suddenly or I start to move out of lane I am currently in. Were am I to find the money for this. The worst of it is I am unable to work but I want too.

Why it's important:

At this time in my life, I feel that I am just another Veteran that has fallen through the cracks and no one sees me or hears
what I have to say. Currently I just want to get better and start my old life over again. As my former Employer wrote:

Greetings,
I have known Mr. Russell for approximately 10 years. During this time his health has steadily declined to the point to where he can no longer work. I will describe some of the issues below.
1. Most of our positions require working in hot and cold environments. This aggravates his asthma to the point that he has an attack and must stop working and go home, or he is going from an air-conditioned building out to the heat and coming back to the a/c. This causes him to develop migraines.
2. His migraines, come on without notice and result in him having to call out of work on short notice and cancel his scheduled appointments, or leave work early. When this occurs, we do not know how long he will be unable to work. It could be a few hours or a few days.
3. I have also noticed mood swings in his personality. He can be in a great mood and then hit severe depression. On several occasions, he has said he just wants to end it all. He has tried on several occasions to reach out to the Veteran Affairs Mental Health section, but they have failed to contact him back. He has luckily found a local psychologist that is helping him.
4. On the flip side, he has had severe anxiety attacks to where he just shakes and cannot talk, or explain what is going on with himself.
5. On one occasion, he became upset and punched a wall to control himself. He then left the facility and would not answer calls for several days. He just wants to work and do what is expected of him, but at times I feel it is a conflict for him mentally and physically to control everything affecting him. I repeat that it can hit him all at once.

For the reasons above we, Mr. Russell and myself, decided it would be better for him to not work and seek professional care to get all of his issues under control. I do know that this has made it very difficult on him financially and his wife has picked up the task of making the finances for the family.
Mr. Russell is one of those people that wants/needs to work to keep himself busy. Being unable to work has changed him mentally. He has lost his sense of self-worth. He worries about his future and his family and does not want to be a burden on his wife.

Funds will be used:

The funds would be used to pay my back doctor bills, along with the ones in the near future, and help me close that Black Hole of debt. Also to have my car modified so my doctor will let me drive when needed.
