Students are suggested to pick an industry (different from that of the group project), for an in-depth study to review the field of IM in a selected industry and how you can fit into. You are strongly suggested to combine your knowledge gained from your previous major studies, work experience, and/or your interest. The length of the report is suggested not to exceed 20 pages (font Times New Roman size 11, paragraph space 1.5, excluding appendices) including references. The report is suggested to include the following:
• Cover Sheet
• Title and Abstract
• Introduction of the importance of the industry
• Literature review related to the industry background
• Critically examine the situations related to the industry by perform a SWOT analysis
• Critically examine the capability and anticipated professional environment of yourself by perform a SWOT analysis
• Explain how your strength can fit into the industry (e.g., what roles and positions you can take up, and why), and how you can overcome your weakness (e.g., learning and overcoming bad habits).
• Discussion on your reflections: what you have learned from the case, such as
o The advantage and limitations of your solution for organizational performance improvement.
o Theory versus reality and key success factors (KSFs) of the solution adoption.
o ...
• Discussion on your reflection of learning experience from this course
o For example, what and how you have learned from the course (lectures, discussions, project, readings, sharing of projects with other groups, etc.)
o Teamwork experience
o ...
• Outlook and Conclusion
• References. APA referencing style.
