SCHIZOPHRENIA PSYSHILOGICAL DISORDER

SCHIZOPHRENIA:
Schizophrenia is one of the most common of the serious mental disorders. The disorder usually being before age 25 years and it is long lasting, persisting throughout life and effects persons of all social classes.
CRITERIA:
A. Two of the following, each present for a significant portion of time during
a. 1 month period. At least one of these must be 1.2.or 3
1. Delusions
2. Hallucinations
3. Disorganized speech.
4. Negative symptoms
B. For a significant portion of the time since the onset of the disturbance, levels of functioning in one ,such as work,interpersonal relationship to achieve expected level of interperson.
C. Continuous sings of the disturbance persist for at last 6 month. This 6 months period must include at least 1 month of symptoms that meet criterion A
D. The disturbance is not atributable to the physiological effects of a substance or another medical condition.
SYMPTOMS:
1. DELUSIONS: the false beliefs are also called delusions. Basically meaning of the person developes a belief which they hold very strongly. It can be various types. For examples;some may develop gradually delusion. Basically they believe they have supernatural power to do things. It can als be what is called delusions over friends where they believe peoples are ttalking about them or laughing at them and might make them retaliate.
A.delusions of persecution:
Where person thinking someone against him,such as family, neighbor’s, someone wants to destroy him.

C. Delusions of infidelity: It happened basically spouses and partners.
2. HALLUCINATIONS:
Auditory Hallucinations:
The most common one’s are ,people may sometimes hear voices talking to them coming from outside of themselves telling them something nasty thing or giving some demands to do things which are call command hallucinations. These hallucinations are perception disorders in a way .
3 NEGATIVE SYMPTOMS:
Evolution; person don’t work meaning full work. Example, someone before study well but present he not study.
Anhedonia: which works patient done efficiently before but now doesn’t work effectively.
Social interactions: patients not talk to anyone.
ETIOLOGY:
1.GENITICAL
There is genetic contribution to some ,perhaps all ,from of schizophrenia. If Parents have schizophrenia than chances of schizophrenia to their sons 40%,if fathers or mothers one have schizophrenia than the chances of schizophrenia among their children 12%.
Tis cases baby is very calm, very excited, not emotional,not excessive laughand crying. onset
Around 15-25 years of age it is developed.
2.CHEMICAL EFFECTS:
1.DOPAMINE :
Schizophrenia results from too much dopamine activity. Excessive Dopamine release in patients with schizophrenia has been linked to the severity of positive symptoms.
2.SEROTONIN:
Current hypothesis posit serotonin excessive as a cause of both positive and negative symptoms in schizophrenia.
3. ENVIRONMENTAL:
After 25 years, stress ,stressors to play a big role for developing schizophrenia.financial stress, failure, someone deaths, etc.
