I am appealing a Veteran's Administration decision to deny a disability for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I retired from the military in 1998 with 27 Years of service. My OSA was not diagnosed til 2017 because I refused to test for it. Finally my wife and our doctor convinced me to be tested. I was prescribed and continue to use a CPAP machine. In 199? I was diagnosed with TMJ. I suffered facial pain for 9 years til the illness was properly diagnosed by Maxillofacial Surgeon at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. The relationship between OSA and TMJ exists. One can cause the other. My Medical Expert Opinion would say that while there is no proof that my OSA was caused by TMJ, it is highly likely it did.
