Literature review for best UI/UX for virtual tours

The purpose of this project is to review the current research literature and related articles to identify, define and document best practices for user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for designing on-line “virtual” tours and interactions at museums’ and historic / heritage places’ websites.

Or, in simple language, how can museums make their exhibits and services more accessible, engaging and satisfying to on-line visitors? The results will be shared, and used to assist museums and heritage sites to expand and enhance their offerings to increase both on-line and on-site traffic.

We require a knowledgeable and experienced research professional to perform the following tasks:

Conduct a thorough research of articles related to effective design of virtual tours. Although the focus should be on museums and heritage sites, it may also include any other findings such as showing homes for sale; campus tours, worker orientation, etc.

Compile, organize and interpret the data to answer the questions listed below, and develop conclusions, summaries and recommendations.

Write and deliver a readable report on lessons learned and best practices for designing on-line and on-site virtual tours and interactions.
