High School Language Arts Practicum

Job ID: 40305030

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m arranging a full-class practice session in Language Arts for high-school learners and need a confident educator who can step in and run the room from bell to bell. The goal is to demonstrate robust, standards-aligned instruction that engages teenagers, checks for understanding in real time, and closes with a clear formative assessment.

Here’s how I picture the practicum:

• A 40–50-minute lesson taught as if to an actual Grade 9-12 class.
• Content drawn from a core Language Arts strand (e.g., close reading, argumentative writing, or literary analysis).
• Student-centred methods—think guided discussion, pair-share, or short writing bursts—rather than straight lecture.
• Embedded checks for understanding and a quick exit ticket to gauge mastery.

Deliverables I need from you
1. Detailed lesson plan (objective, standards, timing, materials, differentiation).
2. Slide deck or visual aids you will use.
3. Any handouts/rubrics plus an answer key.
4. Video recording of you teaching the lesson (live classroom, mocked-up class, or high-quality screencast with you on camera).
5. Brief reflection explaining what went well and what you would tweak.

Acceptance criteria
• Lesson targets a high-school Language Arts standard and is age-appropriate.
• Recording shows clear instruction, interaction prompts, and pacing.
• All resources are share-ready (PDF or Google formats).
• Reflection demonstrates thoughtful self-assessment.

If this aligns with your classroom experience and filming setup, let’s make a compelling demo lesson together.
